The arrival of spring is associated with new beginnings. This spring, the Grace College cheerleading team took this to heart. In a first for Grace College, the team began participating in competitions.

In their first invitational, the Lancers lagged behind the rest of the competition. Indiana Wesleyan University hosted the invitational in Marion, Indiana. The first round happened on Friday, Feb. 9, with the Lancers coming in ninth out of 11 teams. In the second round on Saturday, they faced off against 16 other teams, finishing in 11th place. In the final round on Saturday, they finished seventh out of 12.

Despite the rough start, they posted a strong performance at their second invitational. Taylor University hosted the invitational in Upland, Indiana, on Friday, Feb. 23. The Lancers finished in second place, losing only to Taylor.
